Almost Heaven Gold ("we," "us," or "our") operates AlmostHeavenGold.com, a subscription service that delivers West Virginia trout stocking alerts via an interactive map and SMS text messages. Our contact email is team@almostheavengold.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: Email address and password (or OAuth token if you sign in with Google), and your preferred name if provided.
  • Phone number: Collected only if you opt in to SMS alerts. Used solely to deliver stocking notifications via SMS.
  • SMS opt-in consent: We record the date and method of your SMS consent for compliance purposes.
  • County preferences: Your selected counties of interest, used to personalize SMS alerts to your local fishing areas.
  • Payment information: Processed entirely by Stripe, a PCI-DSS-compliant payment processor. AlmostHeavenGold.com never stores, receives, or has access to your credit card number, CVV, or full billing details.
  • Usage data: Pages visited, map interactions, and feature usage, collected via server logs to improve the service.
  • Early access email: If you submit your email on our coming-soon page, we store it to notify you at launch.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Authenticate your account and maintain your session.
  • Process your subscription payment through Stripe.
  • Send you SMS alerts when new WV DNR trout stocking data is detected — only if you have explicitly opted in.
  • Filter and personalize SMS alerts based on your county preferences.
  • Respond to support inquiries and account issues.
  • Send you a one-time launch notification if you submitted your email on our coming-soon page.
  • Improve and debug the service using aggregated usage data.

4. SMS Messaging Program

Almost Heaven Gold operates an SMS alert program for paid members who have explicitly opted in.

  • Message content: Trout stocking notifications listing newly stocked waters in West Virginia, sourced from WV DNR data.
  • Message frequency: Up to 8 messages per day on weekdays when new stocking data is detected. No messages are sent on days when no new stockings are reported.
  • Opt-in: SMS alerts are never sent without your explicit, unchecked-by-default consent. You must actively check the SMS opt-in box in your member profile.
  • Opt-out: Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe from all SMS messages. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further messages will be sent.
  • Help: Reply HELP to receive a message with contact information.
  • Message and data rates: Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
  • Carrier disclosure: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

4a. SMS Opt-In Data & Consent Sharing Policy

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, affiliates, or partners for marketing or promotional purposes. When you opt in to receive SMS alerts from Almost Heaven Gold, we record your consent solely for compliance and service delivery. This consent data is never sold, rented, or disclosed to outside parties.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

SMS Privacy Disclosure

No personal data or mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Service Providers

We share operational data only with the service providers that help us run the platform. Your phone number is only shared with our SMS provider (Twilio) for the sole purpose of delivering the alerts you requested.

  • Supabase — database and authentication hosting.
  • Stripe — payment processing. When you subscribe, your payment details are entered directly on Stripe's secure hosted page. AlmostHeavenGold.com never receives or stores your card number, CVV, or full billing details. Stripe's Privacy Policy governs how Stripe handles your payment data.
  • Twilio — SMS delivery. Your phone number is shared with Twilio only to transmit the messages you requested. Twilio does not use your number for their own marketing.
  • Vercel — web hosting and edge infrastructure.
  • Google — Google Maps API for the interactive stocking map; Google OAuth if you choose to sign in with Google.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

6. Data Retention

  • Account data is retained for the life of your account.
  • After account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records).
  • SMS opt-out records are retained indefinitely to honor your opt-out preference.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP.

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use session cookies to keep you logged in and to secure your session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Basic server-side analytics may be collected by Vercel.

9. Children's Privacy

This service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
